I fell in love photojournalism when I was first introduced to it. I knew that something so powerful and beautiful was what I wanted to be apart of. So when my mentor, Lisa Krantz first put the camera in my hands 3 years ago at the Martin Luther King March, I knew the camera and journalism would forever be apart of my life.
This experience is something I will never forget. I remember vividly the struggle of trying to manually focus and expose, after just learning moments before, and the struggle of trying to contemplate what's a good picture. Although this day may have been an extreme struggle for me, it was a great learning experience that changed my outlook and dreams.
